I am a Denver, Colorado based web designer and web application interface designer focused on creating effective, standards-compliant web sites and efficient, extensible, highly usable interfaces for web-based business applications.
I am currently a GUI designer/developer at CheapTickets.com, where I have developed a cascading style sheet sytem that allows site apperance to be rapidly altered. I created a navigation system that can be configured as image-based or as text-based navigation as needed. This is executed as a base CSS file and one or more overriding CSS files. With this approach—navigation, logos and other background images as well as the site's color palette are changed simply by loading an alternate CSS file. I has also redesigned much of the site's UI code, creating a more standards-compliant web presence.
I was formerly web/interface designer for Steelpoint Technologies, where I performed creative web U/I design including Information Architecture, U/I design, usability testing, art direction, graphics and DHTML/XML/JavaScript code creation.
While at Steelpoint, I designed easy-to-use interfaces for mass consumer audiences, as well as intuitive interfaces for enterprise web applications with complex functionality and business rules, such that power users require little or no U/I training. Steelpoint Technologies was focused on tI development of strategic Business Process Automation Solutions. Currently I is tI principal of Steven Loe Interactive Design.
Before joining Steelpoint, I was an independent web design/development consultant who began designing and producing commercial web sites in 1996. Prior 1996, I designed and produced print marketing and corporate identity materials while working at several design studios in the Boston area.
